Known as the ‘Sunshine State’ Florida is exactly as the nickname suggests, it is full of sushine and the landscapes that are associated with sunshine. The region has a coastline that is approximately 1350 miles and this coastline holds many famous and not so famous beaches and reefs. The region is popular with all kinds of tourists, either international or actual Americans. The region is full of forests, lakes and parks that have camping grounds, hiking tracks and a big diversity of wildlife. This region is renowned for its warm weather all year round that lets the tourist encounter all these natural wonders and the man-made attractions.

This region has the major cities of Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Tallahassee, Pensacola and Havana. With these well-known names and the landscape this region offers it is no wonder that this region is so popular with Americans and international tourists.

Some General rules and regulations in the U.S.
As a general rule in the U.S. it is expected that everyone be polite, considerate and have respect for the country. In the U.S. the society is mostly well ordered and people obey the common laws. There is know real difference between men and women in society and it is expected that if spoken to you then respond politely and courteously. The country believes in freedom of speech but as a foreigner it might be interpreted in a negative way. When in the U.S. try to avoid political issues with general public, don’t smoke unless you can see it is an area for smoking, swimming topless or naked is unacceptable, don’t litter and remember to tip in restaurants and bars (15-20%).

Climate

The U.S. has a big range of climatic zones because of the large size of its land. New England: cool, temperate climate with snow in the higher areas. Warm summers and cold winters.
Atlantic Coast: is warmer in the southern regions, it has longer summers and low snow falls in winter. This region can be very wet and humid in the warmer months.
The Great Lakes: has a continental climate, which is very warm in summer and extremely cold in winter.
The Great Plains: has a more temperate continental climate than the Lakes region, with less severe winters.
The Mountains and Plateau areas: The high altitude areas are extremely cold in winter, the region has mild summers and very cold winters. The desert areas are very hot in summer and cold in winter with the area dry most of the time.
Pacific Coast region: has a warm all year climate with high rainfalls. It gets cooler in the north than the south at any time of the year.
